Summer wish list

Summer wish list

Mini and I are back in the office after our weekend in Menorca partying ahead of her wedding this autumn (when i say 'partying', i have to admit that I was alcohol free and on antibiotics, but I tried my best to keep up with the rest of the girls!).

We often get emails and messages from customers asking for packing advice, which pairs of sandals we would take on holiday, as well as questions about where to visit or stay in Menorca. So I thought I'd compile a little list of my favourite palmaira's to wear and most loved places to visit whilst in Menorca. Mini is going to compile a separate list for all you child-free slightly younger lot!! Bear in mind that I usually have at least 3 kids in tow!!

(I've also just posted a short-list of summer packing essentials that I have bought this year and would recommend, for any of you who have asked about this over the past few weeks - hopefully you should still be able to find these online. xx)

My Footwear Essentials

1.Sandy Tan: my absolute faves, I wear these day and night for a beachy look.

2. Multi Glitter flats: I think these are the best neutral toned glitters that we stock, they suit all skin tones and catch the light beautifully for truly sunkissed sparkly feet!

3. Tan Cork Wedge or Mid Height Espadrille Wedge: My choice at the moment are the Kittys.

4. Grecian Sandals: New in this year, these have fast become an essential summer wear for me.

5. High Espadrille Wedges: I love the Ariadne or the Paloma, I always pack a pair, but as I am 5'9" I don't wear them that often, but for special evenings out they always work their magic on your legs, elongating them whilst still being really comfy.

My Top Things To Do In Menorca

1. Visit Fornells during the day and swim off the rocks at the end of the fishing village, this is my kids' favourite activity - we go there with the bare essentials: Goggles / Sarongs for drying / Suncream. That's all we need for an afternoon of adventure and fun.

2.Dinner in Bar Chic in Es Migjorn Gran, the village that is home to Palmaira Sandals. The fig, mozzarella and tomato salad, followed by Seabass or Grilled Lamb is delicious!

3.Cala Galdana for a late lunch at one of the beachside cafes - bocadillos with cheese and salad washed down with small beers and a siesta under the pine trees.

 4. Es Grau for kayaking followed by crispy squid in one of the tiny waterside restaurants there.

 5. Mahon for a long walk along the port followed by pre-dinner gin & tonics in Latitude 45 and then dinner in Restaurante Way.

6.Afternoons on the beach in San Adeodato until the sun is setting, then an early sunset dinner in Es Bruc looking over our favourite view.

7. Drive along the south coast towards Binibeca, stopping along the way to swim off the rocks into the clear turquoise water. Head to Biniancolla for lunch in La Baia, my kids absolutely love the wood fired pizzas here.

8. Drive over to Santandria, near to Ciutadella, and reserve a table in Sa Nacra for lunch. This cliffside restaurant has a diving board extending out from the seating area over the cliff - brave diners can choose to plunge into the water to cool down after eating... me and the kids LOVE this!!!

9. Evenings in the main square in Mercadal for drinks and tapas, the kids can play safely here whilst you can sit with a G&T or small beer and chill.

10. The Isabella, in Platges de Fornells for pre-dinner sunset drinks followed by a late bbq dinner in Ca Na Marga in Ses Salinas. This is Menorca at its most chilled, Mediterranean vibes that are family friendly but authentic to the core.
