Palmaira Sandals De Menorca was established in 2012 by two sisters, Lisa and Tracey, and Lisa's Menorcan partner, David. Having lived and worked in Menorca they have worked, played and partied in traditional Menorcan sandals for years.
Many imitations exist, but the traditional Menorcan Sandal (Avarca) must be made by hand on the island of Menorca in the traditional method for it to be granted an authentic seal of approval. Palmaira Sandals De Menorca stocks Menorcan sandals that have this 'product of Menorca' stamp and pride themselves in selling only the best quality avarcas available.
Using traditional methods and manufacturing processes, as well as local village workers, Palmaira Sandals is supporting true authentic craftsmanship with an ethically honest product.
A word from the Palmaira Girls:
"At the heart of our company is the beautiful Island of Menorca and its lovely inhabitants. A place that we call home, and people that we call family. All Palmaira sandals are handmade by David’s childhood friends and neighbours to the highest standards and using the finest leathers.
We design what we want to wear ourselves, no gimmicks, no fads, just products that make you look and feel good.
Palmaira has had the most amazing support from so many lovely customers in the UK and around the world and we have some really exciting times ahead, but we promise to always retain our existing values… Everything will be handmade by local workers, everything will be of the highest quality and everything will be authentic."
